NHL’s Frozen Four Set

And then there were four.

By virtue of the Detroit Red Wings’ 4-3 win over the Anaheim Ducks last night, the defending champs earned a date with the upstart Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL’s Western Conference final–the Wings are the odds-on to repeat as Stanley Cup champs at +125 while the ‘Hawks are +300.

Over in the Eastern Conference, the Carolina Hurricanes are displaying shades of 2006, when they won the Stanley Cup.

The ‘Canes defeated the East’s No. 1, the Boston Bruins, 3-2 in OT and now face the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Eastern final–Carolina is a +500 longshot to win it all while Pittsburgh is +225.
